We have about a day and a half to go to reach Tonga but we do not arrive until Sunday morning as we lose a day as we cross into the 172W degree longitude. Tonga wanted to have the same time as their near(450 mile) neighbour Fiji so the date line has a kink in it! We will go from -10 hours UTC to +13 hours UTC (+12 BST). It has been the subject of much discussion on Marita as we have always had trouble coping with the clocks going backwards/forwards in England. To lose a day and go forward 23 hours is too much to cope with!
