After motoring in flat calm up the Chenal De Four
we said farewell to Eroica, who headed east to Lezadrieux,
and sailed (motored) across the Channel amongst banks of fog and arrived off the Lizard early on Tuesday morning.
We went into the Helford River
and and anchored off Trebah beach between Helford Passage and Durgan
It was good to be back amongst the old sailing craft
We had been instructed by son, George, to be off Black Rock at the entrance to Falmouth and the Carrick Roads at 1000 on Saturday morning so after a few days R&R we sailed over to Black Rock where we were met by a flotilla of boats

Two gigs, Trefusis and Pinnacle, also accompanied us in

and gave the customary salute by the tossing of oars

and then back to our mooring and ashore where the last day of Flushing Village Regatta was in full swing with swimming races, pram races and the sailing regatta
and by no means least the carnival procession and drinking into the early hours

After 2 years and 55 days our voyage and adventure has ended. We travelled 24,323 miles and visited 36 countries.
We are extremely grateful to all those, both in this country and afar, who have helped us in our moments of need with advice, repairs and parts to keep Marita and us sailing onwards.
Finally a big thank you to all our blog readers who have followed our progress----you have been a source of great encouragement. We have been asked 'what next' to which there is no answer at the moment but watch this space....!!
