On Wednesday afternoon we went to see the Big Buddha who sits high above Ao Chalong at the southern end of Phuket. Major expansion works are taking place which will make it a very large visitor and religious site.
En route to the 'shipping dinner'' in Phuket town we stopped to feed and photograph the elephants and then went to the Ao Chalong temple complex. Then to the dinner hosted by the shipping company Sevenstars.
This brought together most of the owners and crews from the boats being shipped and the Sevenstars staff including the diver who puts the slings under the boat. We were told the procedure for loading and given an update. The boat (Thorco Svendborg) is still in Indonesia (3 to 7 March) currently  loading and unloading cargo in Map Ta Phut. Then to Singapore to bunker fuel and pick up a yacht before coming up to Phuket---due about the 12 March. It will take about 4 or 5 days to load the 17 yachts and then about 11 days sailing to Marmaris, Turkey.
We sailed down to Koy Racha Yai yesterday and will return to Panwa Bali today in time for Lucy's flight on Saturday afternoon.
