We are really enjoying La Gomera, it is funny how much more friendly some marinas are than others, people are leaving for the Cape Verdes on a daily basis, others are arriving to stock up before going onwards. We are sitting in an Internet cafe having a tapas lunch (finally Mark is enjoying tapas!) before searching for a butcher who can vacuum pack meat, we know he is here somewhere. The town is smaller than expected but easy to move around in, we found a replacement lightbulb which we thought would be difficult to replace. There are several ferries going between here and Tenerife, but people seem to visit for the day rather than stay overnight, it is also a cruise liner day stop. The sun shines during the day, the water is still warm enough to swim in and the town beach is yards away. The nights however are drawing in, dark at 7.30pm and not light till 8am - we will have to get used to twelve hours of darkness when on passage. There is a shop here with cottonwool and polar bears, Christmas trees etc
In the window, bizarre!
We also found additional crew on board again this morning, he was despatched as he had 6 legs and no visa!
