We left Komodo bound for Lombok and Bali this morning but not without drama. The 'up anchors' time had been agreed with Camelot at 0600 so the alarm clock was set for 0520. As we went to bed Mark killed a bee that had flown into the cabin---not good as Helen is very allergic to their stings.
There were no mosquitoes around so no nets had been put on and the hatches had been left open. At 0510 Mark opened an eyelid and saw a bee flying through the hatch into the cabin. Helen was put on alert and Mark investigated. The first squadron of bees had arrived on a revenge attack and before minutes had passed there were bees everywhere. All the hatches were closed and those that had entered had to be despatched whilst Helen cowered in the front cabin. After about half an hour the majority had gone and we weighed anchored but even there was the lone kamikaze (unsuccessful) attack by bees.
We are now safely on passage to Lombok.
