We sail to the Cape Verdes tomorrow.  Today has been provisioning day...we took an order into the butcher on Saturday, dictionary in hand, surprisingly everything is as we had ordered it, vacuum packed and frozen.  He has a tray of sausages under the counter and gives people some as a gift - just like Corporal Jones in Dad's Army!  Next to the market for eggs, vegetables and fruit.  The fruit has to have circulating air so boats hang nets up in the cabin, or in some cases under their solar panels at the stern.  The 18 x 8 litre bottles of drinking water are stowed in the bilges and the forward heads as we don't use them at sea, and this keeps the bow and stern more level.  It is approximately 800 miles to the Cape Verde islands so we will be at sea for a week, our longest passage yet.
