From Lesconil we sailed up to the Raz de Sein via the pointe de Penmarche and went through the Raz again in pussy cat conditions.
Interestingly there was favourable tide despite the fact that the tide was went to be south going——?back eddy?
The wind died, we tried running on the gybe but no success so motored up through the Chenal de four and out into the Channel.
The wind backed to the east as forecasted and we had a great sail across the channel with a 12 knot beam wind.
An interesting encounter with a 900 foot oil tanker necessitated a call on the VHF—he said he would pass ahead which he did but only 0.2 miles ahead. MSC Tokyo for future reference!!

The Raz de Sein
The “rush” for home was necessitated by a forecast of northerly winds for the coming week, the Church Fete (organising), Helen’s birthday and Henry’s fly by, and the Bishop’s visit to Flushing to dedicate the memorial wall !
