After a good nights sleep the sun was shining, so having checked the weather forecast we thought we could sail the 110 miles to Dublin using two favourable and one foul tide, arriving in Dun Laoghaire on Sunday Morning. We left Dale at 11am - the seas were still rough coming out of the Haven but calmed down away from the coast. A quiet day of passage making followed, motoring and sailing in order to keep to our tidal gates, with the wind on our stern. We arrived at the Arklow Bank and continued North. In the early morning the wind increased to 25 then 30 knots, we took the mainsail down and motored into Dun Laoghaire, arriving at 06.15, exhausted but glad to be here, gales are forecast so we will be here for a day or two. Why are we going North?!!
