We were up at 5.30am with a long way to go and no boltholes. We helped to demarinate Maximilian, the Moody 47 (marinated being the chosen word for being embayed in a marina) who was wedged in by other boats. We left at 6am, the windex failed at the harbour entrance
and apart from 2 hours motorsailing at the beginning we sailed all the way downwind with speeds between 5 and 9 knots. We had to put two reefs in the main and at times had a partly furled genoa.
The entrance to this river had changed in that the Northerly mole had recently been extended and the electronic chart showed the old entrance - the Moody had 36 knots windspeed at the entrance.72 miles and 13 hours later we arrived to be met by a load of officialdom and are now tucked up in the marina. Phew - now for a shower - hurrah!
