Yet another “unusually” deep low pressure was advancing towards Scotland. Storm 10 in Rockall but a more sedate gale 8 and possibly severe gale 9 for us in Malin!
After a wet night we awoke to a damp morning although Mark had been up several times in the night because the gas alarm kept going off despite the gas being turned off at the bottle——we think the alarm may be both a gas alarm and a damp alarm!
We decided that as the forecast was so awful we should head back towards Oban and Dunstaffnage Marina would give us a change of scenery.
We set off at about 8 am and motored south in windless conditions ——it goes without saying that it was of course still very wet
A ‘pleasure’ boat also so left at the same time

and after a couple of hours we arrived extremely wet and cold and after a ‘lively’ debate with a Russian lady in the marina office who gave us our pontoon number we tied up and set about drying out.
In the afternoon that 'yellow thing' in the sky appeared and we went for a walk to Dunstaffnage Castle—not much left of it!
All looked serene and calm in the marina in advance of the storm
but the yellow thing disappeared and the heavens opened yet again as we walked back to the boat—must walk faster next time!
