After 36 hours in Hiva Oa, which has a population
of 1500 people and a 4 mile walk to the village, but no diesel, we were given 60
litres by Camelot and left for Nuku Hiva yesterday at 3pm. There is diesel
in Nuku Hiva. After a tricky passage with wind coming from all
directions at all speeds we arrived here in the most beautiful bay and are about
to go ashore. We will be in the Marquesas until Sunday when we swop high
mountains for low coral atolls.
