Poros was a lovely place and Tom and Nadine had rented a villa high up above the town----in the centre of the photo, blue shutter and single chimney on right.
the view was amazing
but the climb up more challenging
We went and anchored off for swimming and sunbathing
and returned for a hearty fish supper----Yannick ate swordfish
and then had a sleep
and Mark looked after Katinka
We left on Sunday on a lovely calm morning
and sailed for the Corinth Canal. We arrived at about 1700 and decided to pass straight through once we had paid and they dropped the hydraulic bridge
It was about 8 metres deep (max draught permitted 6.5 metres), 3.2 miles long and 25 metres wide.
crumbling at the edges
with a road and rail bridge over the top
and rising to 79 metres above sea level

At the other end the hydraulic bridge lowered and we went out into a big sea and 25 knots of wind. After a gruelling 6 hours we found shelter on the north side of the Gulf at Paralia where we stayed for the night and the next day whilst the wind howled.
We motored down the Gulf of Corinth and stopped overnight at Trizonia, an unfinished marina but a lovely little village. The marina need some TLC and removal of a sunken yacht

and then onto Sami on Cephalonia passing under the Rion-Andirrion bridge

We arrived at Sami at about 1930 and anchored stern-to the quay next to Maximilian and reunited ourselves with Ian and Carole Clothier who we sailed with down the Portugese coast two years ago
