Had Khlong Dao, Koh Lanta. We set sail this morning and moved to a bay in the north of the island as the swell from the south gave us an uncomfortable night's sleep. When we returned from the New Years Eve celebrations we had to remove the engine and put the dinghy on deck. Our supper was not a success, we chose a seafood barbecue at a bar called "Why Not". The snapper, prawns and squid took ages to arrive and were smothered in oyster sauce. When we asked for a napkin to wipe our hands we were handed a loo roll! A Magnum ice cream rounded off a memorable supper. The fireworks at midnight however, were spectacular as they were from the 5 star Pimalai Resort Hotel on the beach and by then we were back on the boat with a grandstand view.
