we had a tour of Lombok  organised  by  Ali as our Tour Guide.  We drove up into the mountains to feed the monkeys
Then we went to the oldest Temple on the island, dedicated to five faiths, Hindu,Christian,Buddist, Muslim and Sasak, the original faith. A peaceful place with ponds and gardens.
We carried on to watch ikat cloth weavers, all in one village, intricate designs woven on hand looms.
Driving through the countryside was lovely but there was too much rubbish discarded everywhere
We saw a pottery village, and some batik work too.
There was a Sasak traditional village to see, with villagers still living traditional lives.
So many impressions in one day, we returned to the boat exhausted!
The next day we took a snorkelling tour of the Gili Islands,
Snorkelling is easy in such clear water with a boat to follow should we tire ourselves!
Ashore there are restaurants, places to stay and many dive shops.
The next day we motored over to Gili Aer and spent two days relaxing in the sun, before some sad news,  Mark's mother has had a stroke, so we sailed to Bali Marina yesterday from the Gilis  and he has flown back to the UK this evening.
