Here are the promised photos of Rangiroa, Tuomotu Islands.
We went for a snorkel at the ''aquarium'' which is just inside the pass into the lagoon which is renowned for it's drift snorkelling and diving.there were an mazing number of fish of different sizes and colours.
The following day we went to the Blue Lagoon on a fast speed boat. The Blue Lagoon is a lagoon within a lagoon on the other side of the atoll from where we were anchored (approx 30 miles) but we decided that it was better to go by fast boat than to dodge the bommies and then anchor off in coral on a lee shore. We arrived on the edge of the lagoon and the boat went into the shallows and we then walked across to the island.
an amazing place with a small hut for us to have our lunch although it was still only 1000, so paddling and swimming were next.

The black tipped reef sharks appeared at lunch time and swam in the shallows around our feet
we had a wade over to the next motu
and were photographed by one of the party.
after lunch we returned to the boat for swimming with sharks and feeding---two separate events!! Mark swam with the sharks until it was feeding time and a tuna head was produced
we then returned to the anchorage and in the evening went out to supper and saw some Tahitian dancing
an amazing place and day.
