We did not venture far from Rodney Bay as we were mainly waiting for boat engineers. However we did go to Pigeon Island for the day on Sunday. It is no longer an Island as it was joined to the mainland in about 1979 and is now looked after by the St Lucia ''National Trust''.

On top is a fort which Admiral Rodney  in the 18th Century so that he could see the French sailing from Martinique the next island to the North. It also has commanding views over Rodney Bay and other parts of St Lucia.

The beach cafe was lovely although the arrival of passengers off Wind Spirit, a sailing cruise ship anchored off, gave it an American influence for a while! We walked back to the marina via Gros Islet a small local village.
We sailed to Bequia via the Pitons at the bottom end of St Lucia
and then the leeward coast of St Vincent
There was a majestic sunrise to spur us on our way to Bequia.
