We have arrived at Horne Island in the Torres Straits.  Wow! 1254 miles since leaving Bundaberg.  Another day of fast and boisterous sailing during which the highlight was undoubtedly sailing downwind through the narrow Albany Passage at 8 knots with the main sail and genoa poled out.  Photos will follow.  We passed Cape York, the northern most point of Australia and crossed to the Torres Straits islands.  An amazing day which started with a first light departure from Escape River and ended anchored amongst more than 20 of the rally yachts.  Time now to (relax?) fix a few things, re-provision and top up on fuel and gas.  Not to mention planning the next 700 mile passage to our first stop in Indonesia.  Our friends Hilbrand and Marijke on Carrie have kindly contacted the Customs and Border Protection office on our behalf and booked an appointment for us to check out from Australia on Monday afternoon.  We will then have 24 hours to depart towards Indonesia.  So, much to do, but even so there will be time for Sunday lunch ashore with chums from several other boats and evening drinks with others.
