Next stop Shroud Cay.  More gorgeous water and white sand but the main reason to come here is to take the dingy through the mangroves from the Bahamas Bank side to the Atlantic side of the island.  We had heard that this was an amazing, amazing journey so, even though our dingy is not the best for a long journey we got in and set off.

We had expected the water to be dark brown and swampy but found a bright blue, clear ‘river’…………..

That meandered through the mangroves…..

until the Atlantic appeared round a bend.  The photographs don’t really do it justice……..

As promised the beach was fabulous…..

And the water just about warm enough to get Mike in………………..

But he still got out as soon as he could…….

Back in for a group shot ………..

But someone had to be in the dingy while the rest of us rode the current from the Atlantic through the cut (gap) into the channel.

We could have stayed for days but we all had places to get to so we left for Nassau for Jamie and Zoe’s flight to Miami and our final preparations for an overnight passage to Marsh Harbour in The Abacos.
