Nassau, Bahamas.  Sounds great doesn’t it?  It’s ghastly!  At least all the parts that we have seen so far are.

We arrived yesterday and were rejected by the marina that we had booked because they couldn’t find the booking.  Fortunately we found a slot in another one nearby and had an interesting berthing with tide, current, wind and the American system of mooring between four large poles.  Mike’s experiences with strong currents, winds and tide in Spain and Portugal a few years ago all came back and he did some very impressive manoeuvring with subtle use of reverse at just the right moment so that we shoe horned into a tight corner as though we did it every day.

First time we have been in a marina for eight weeks and we remember why we like being at anchor so much.  Still, we’ve got the washing done and the provisioning is great.

The weather forecast is vile and we haven’t seen the sun at all today.  It is getting windier and strangely damp and cold.  The rain apparently starts with a vengeance tomorrow and lasts most of the week.  Jamie and Zoe arrive from UK in a couple of hours expecting a Bahamas idyll.  Mmm.

Will let you know how we get on!
