Noon on the third day of this passage and we are 10 miles from the anchorage at Penuba.  We motored all day yesterday with the wind and the tide against us but still managed to run 121 miles.  So frustrating as it is the first time for months that we have had winds from the NW!  The night was relatively calm and surprisingly clear.  No squalls or lightening, thank goodness.  WE will remain in Penuba for a few days as they have arranged some festivities for us.  However, our main focus will be the Rugby World Cup Final tomorrow night.  Hopefully we can find a TV with Fox 2 Sports somewhere on the island.

After Penuba we go to the small island of Benan also in the Lingga Regency.  We will not be going to the final stop in Tanjung Pinang as we have already booked out of Indonesia!!  We will be marking time in a quite bay somewhere until it is the right moment to depart for Singapore and Carol’s arrival there.  Several of the rally yachts have already left for Singapore as they are fed up with the smoke haze and intend join the Sail Malaysia Rally in mid-November.  I suspect they may be disappointed when they reach Singapore to find it is not much better.
