Twenty two boats from the fleet left Penuba the next day (Sat 1 Nov) and made for a small island very close to the equator which we hoped would have a beach and where we could hold an “equator” party.  Mike has crossed the equator several times but the chance to actually anchor on the equator was too good to miss.  As it turned out the anchorage was perfect, the beach accessible and although small, perfectly formed.  An almost too good to be true film set like beach.  A “pot luck” BBQ and loads of fireworks, courtesy of Allure and Dream Maker made it a very special evening.
