We have had a very lovely couple of days at anchor on a palm fringed island and eaten lobster for our last three meals. Brought to us by dugout we have grilled, BBQ'd and eaten cold. We are getting the hang of it now. We were offered octopus this morning but decided that that was a bit too much of a challenge and the effort/reward equation didn't balance for either of us.

We will set off at about five this evening and sail towards Portobello overnight. We will spend the day looking round there and hopefully buying the odd vegetable before the short hop to Colon where we will be in the marina for as long as it takes to get our permits and slot to transit the canal.

The big news, and we are very proud of ourselves, for this is that we have done our first dive under the boat to do a small job. It is great to know that we now that that additional independence to fix things. The really scary bit was the dread of dropping either the screw, the anode or the allen key, all of which were tiny! Photographs to follow.

All getting very exciting but still a lot to do!
