Distance run since Bora Bora: 1,107 nautical miles, 1,273 statute miles.

0700 and we are rounding the top of the island of Nuie. We will pick up our
mooring buoy on the west side in a couple of hours.

Moana Roa, Adina and Dancing Bear are already there. After a ten day
passage we had that annoying thing of having to slow down for the last 24
hours in order to make sure we arrived in daylight. We have never had such
difficulty slowing down because we had 15 - 25 knots of wind at the perfect
angle for sailing. We had the teeniest sails up and at one point took the
headsail down and still were going at four knots. After that we picked up a
strong current that was travelling in the same direction as us just when we
wanted it to do what it usually does which is work against us.

We are not sure how long we will be able to stay because we need to watch
the weather. If the wind goes westerly, which it is due to do on Thursday,
it makes it impossible to get ashore by dingy. If it is too strong a
westerly then staying on the mooring buoy isn't a great idea either so we
may only be here for a short time before we head for Tonga.

It has been a very comfortable passage as passages go with only the last
couple of days being on lumpy sea so we have both actually read books.

All is well and looking forward to stopping at least for a couple of nights.
