We leave for the Marquesa Islands in a couple of hours after a very busy and exciting time in Galapagos.  It was more important to experience it than write about it so no detailed blogs have been written as yet.  We now have 3 – 4 weeks at sea so there will be plenty of time to writeand then, hopefully send them once we make landfall.

We have had a short delay just now because a Brazilian catamaran that came in next to us last night just called to invite us over for a coffee because they had seen our boat name and prayer flags and wanted to meet us.  They were Buddhist and, extraordinarily, had their Tibetan Rinpoche on board with his daughter.  We have just had a lovely time chatting about shared experiences of Tibet.  He now runs a centre in California but was brought up in India and in his previous lives had lived in several monasteries in Tibet.  A Rinpoche is a reincarnation of a senior Lama (monk).

We expect the trip to take three to four weeks.  The forecast at the moment shows gentle winds or virtually nothing at one point but, given the time we will be at sea we expect a bit of everything.  We will update the blog, pick up a weather forecast and send/receive emails every few days so will be able to keep in touch.
