Once in the water there is still much to do.  Re-rigging, getting the sails back on (we now have three having had an inner forestay fitted giving us two sails at the front rather than one), fitting additional blocks and rope clutches, setting up the new wind generator, and more.   This often requires bending into tight corners, such as the anchor locker to fit the new windlass motor.

Or putting Ben into the cockpit locker to fit a new rope clutch.

Occasionally something can be done in comfort though, such as fitting the blades to the wind generator.

But it is never long before you have to squeeze yourself into another tight corner to fit something fiddly.

All this work meant numerous trips to the marina chandlery.  A fascinating place full of lovely things that you want, but don’t need, for your boat.

..... and then on the long walk back to the boat a Magnum is a good idea to keep you going and help you recover from the shock of what the latest widget had cost.
