Tobago Cays Part Two - Turtles

Something else very special about Tobago Cays is the turtle sanctuary on the reef.  The area is cordoned off with a marked corridor through for taking your dingy on to the beach.  From there you can swim within the sanctuary area and watch the turtles.  This is absolutely tremendous.  We quite often see turtles around the boat but haven’t been able to watch them underwater because they are always somewhere else.  Here they were completely not bothered by someone overhead and just carried on munching the sea grass.

It was a cloudy day (yep, they do happen) so the light wasn’t particularly good for underwater photographs so hopefully we will get some better ones when we go back.  Turtles were not the only thing to see and this starfish was more than a foot across.…..
