The Olympic Park was stunning and you could stay all day if you had a ticket to an event.  The gardens wetlands were a real delight to walk round and extensive enough that it was easy to get away from the crowds.

There were  endless wildflower meadows…….

Some quirky sculptures……….

This was an ‘upside – down’ fountain underneath one of the bridges that shot jets of water down making different words which then vanished as the water fell to the river……..

The landscaping framed the different venues and, in some places at sometimes, you felt you were the only one there.  From this angle it is easy to see why the Velodrome quickly became known as The Pringle.

Round one corner we found the Gloriana.  The Queens Barge that was rowed along the Thames during the Jubilee River Pageant.

Round another corner we found Boris on his way to the Velodrome.
