We had another very long, slow slog into wind to get north from Norfolk to Deltaville and consequently arrived long after the marina staff had gone home.  Our final stage was along a narrow and twisty channel in a narrow and twisty creek which required pointing the boat at strange angles to the shore to negotiate which meant that, at times, we felt we were about to put ourselves onto someone’s back lawn.  Oh, and the crab pots of course.  Everywhere.  And we are a bit sensitive still about winding string/rope round our propeller.

All was well and as soon as we appeared alongside the pontoon three people appeared to assist us berth, tell us where everything was and invite us for a glass of wine as soon as we were sorted out.  Excellent.

…….. which it turned out was full of boats……….

….which isn’t fabulously unusual but we were struck how well appointed this was as boathouses go with a selection of carpets laid…………

We had a busy few days getting ready to haul out and get the boat ready to leave for the summer.  We were pleased that Lesley and Philip had driven down for a few days because it meant we did at least down tools in the evenings and enjoy supper together.
