We left Madeira in the first proper sunshine we had had since arriving so were able to see the spectacular coast and nearby islands.

But that didn’t last and we had a very rolly couple of days to Lanzarotte.

Nothing too terrible though and fun nonetheless.  We decided to have a couple of days at anchor on the island of La Graciosa at the northern end of Lanzarotte before heading into the marina.

Ashore it was mostly beach

But we could see a village in the distance and went to have a look.  And an ice cream, and a beer.

It was a film set for Beau Geste.  Sand everywhere.  Not a bit of tarmac.  But, surprisingly large harbour and well cared for harbour area with pleasant restaurants and cafe’s and several aging hippies doing macramé.
