On from the lovely marina at Arbatax we headed North spending a night in La Caletta, another superficially unattractive and functional town that had a certain charm.  Oh, and a tremendous fish shop.

We have visited more marina’s than we would choose because there are very few anchorages along this stretch of coast but we headed for Spalmatore Point that had been recommended as sheltered and pretty.  Sheltered and pretty it was under a huge rock face but still the rain got to us.  This time with hailstones.

We had enough clear weather over the next few days to do some more work on the boat including fitting the child netting ready for Annie and Wills visit with Josh, Dan and Isla.  Will had warned us that this wasn’t a fun experience and just had to be got through while remaining calm at all times.  Forewarned, Mike gritted his teeth and got on with it.

The Coastguard visited and asked for our papers while holding out a large fishing net.  They then left!  With our passports!  We had expected them to stay alongside so this was slightly unnerving.  However, we could see another chap sitting at a desk inside clearly looking at the documents while they went round all the other boats so they did come back.

We needed to move on so left after four days and continued North.
