Still sailing along on port tackand only twice reef 1 has been in and out. Wind direction variability down to 30 degrees and wind fairly constant in the 13-15 knot bracket the odd excursion to 17. Moving around the boat has been quite difficult as the heel normally in the 20-25 degree with a pitch change -5 to +5 degrees, alays to to hold on below. 605nm to go, just under a Fastnet Race dstance.
Last night had a little whoopsy with dinner, more presisely with the smash. The powder was in the bowl being retained on the galley surface by the unused salt water faucet/pipe, an extra big bounce on a wave the bowl jumped and crashed across the galley and tipped all its contents on the floorand carpet. The water had just boiled and the corn beef hash was cooking. After an initial expletive got the small vacuum cleaner out and managed to get most of it sucked up as fortunately the cabin floor has stayed dry. The carpet then removed to the outside for a clean best we can at sea, also vacuumed the floor vacated by the carpet, dinner still needing a stir, carpet back down, vacuum back in cupboard, nearly everything fell out as we are on wrong tack to really open that one, dinner served minus the mashed potatoes.
Low clouds all last night, had a little respite with a little bit of sunshine, 2 hours, today, now back to low cloud.
Dinner this evening may consist of mitonne de mouton aux flageolets, mixed veg, mash(?), cheese, sliced bread and mandarins in juice.
