Finished AZAB return 27th June at 19.01.02. The last 6
miles was not as staraight forward as planned. Gybe good, hardening up on the
10-12 knots breeze good with spinnaker up. A few gust so took the helm as could
anticiapote them. Wind kept building eventually could see a real dark patch of
water coming my way, decided time to drop spinnaker, jib out fine, snuffed sail
fine then had a problem getting snuffer windward side if jib to drop. If had
another pair of hands could easily have been collected from leeward side. Not
sure how long took to get down, I was very warm once done. Good sail to
finish.
Overall a good AZAB both ways 3 days quicker than last
time. The great surprise we never had any upwind sailing in 2500nm and a lot of
it at 165 TWA not the best for singlehanders when relying on autopilot so much.
Got a snagging list of repairs and changes to be made
before the ARC in November which will be double handed.
Next update mid October on our trip down to the
Canaries.
