Arrived in BVI yesterday 1230, anchored near customs and immigration. You are not allowed in any marinas until you have checked into the country. Faily straight forward and $66 (US) we were in. We raised anchor to check on marina we had made contact with to stay during the regatta and never confirmed with us. It was very shallow going in and we were still 100m from the dock and down to just 20cnm under the keel so aborted that. On the way out we contacted Nanny Cay marina to see if they had a birth for 1 night, we were in luck and got in. The amenities there are very good, best shower block I have been in, in any marina. Whilst talking to marina manager we may be lucky and get a berth in there during the regatta. Hopefullly get confirmation next couple of days.
Mean while we left there and now on an anchor ball in Sopers Hole. Swinging about all over the place due to swirling northerly winds off the hills about us. Tomorrow the plan is to go off to Jost van Dyke about 8 miles away. We will look for a place we can give the hull a good rub down as you can see it is a bit mucky along the waterline and barnacles seen just starting to appear on the transom.
