Last night just as dinner was being served a heavy long downpour came along with the associated extra wind and direction changes. John got very wet again. We managed not to drop any of the meal or make a mess.
After the rain no wind was the order of the night. We tried sailing some of the time in 3-4 knots then when dropped further furled the jib and decided to use the engine for a couple of hours to find the gradient wind again.
By the morning the wind had gone north and we had the latest weather report and decided that we will start our northly route as unable to take rhumb line. Direct route to San Miguel is 052 degrees we are at time doing 340 meaning our distance to go is not decreasing much although doing 5 knots again. Latest weather update not agreeing on the various models again, only 2 of the 6 going north. We shall stay with north and review again in the morning or if get sudden wind direction change.
Dinner this evening will be chunky chicken vegetable soup, cheese, mash, last of sliced bread and Waitrose tinned pears. No more rusty cans of fruit left only main courses.
