Kept sailing until 0530 when the wind dropped to less than 5 knots aft of abeam, engine went on. Just before the wind dropped totally had the Code 0 up for about 15 minutes. We are still motoring now. The wind for some 6 hours was Force 1, only 1 or 2 knots, the sea looking glassy. The wind is now upto 14 knots and a perfect run to our destination in Poole Bay, as we do want to be out in the stronger winds keeping the motor on with main right out with gybe preventer on as we are at times by the lee. The tide is against us for the next 5 hours and at the moment keeping above the 5 knots over the ground boat speed which means we could be in Parkstone YC marina in about 10 hours. 42nm to go.
Last night was pleasant until the time code 0 needed to go up then it rained, a lot and I was on watch, that is not the way it should have been, John is normally on watch when it rains. No more rain expected before we get in and should not be too windy either.
It looks very windy for this weekend and the Round the Island race, some forecasts suggesting gust of 36 knots during the race. Will it be on? Has it been cancelled before?
Our last supper this evening will be overstuffed italian sausage ravioli, peas & carrots, cheese, baguette (bad planning as have 1 left), then Salada Fruta Tropical em sumo.
