Today had a race around St Martin, 28 miles with a 10 mile perfect beat. Downwind start was good as we were on the line. Having watched earlier classes the gust did cause problem and broaches with the assymetric up, we decided to just use jib. After a short time decided we could stay upright so deployed the assy to the corner and stayed amongst the fleet. Could not be said for upwind leg as that is my worst leg in any boat and never identified what it is I am doing wrong. Once beat finished back to assy and gained time and had sustained 10 knots speed. Finished at 1455 about 1.5 nm from the bridge that has an opening at 1500. Assy down and gunned the engine to get there or wait until 1700 for the last opening of the day. We arrived at bridge 1510 and still boats going through so no waiting around.

Last night the entertainment and daily prize giving was disappointing so will not go tonight.

Tomorrow more racing will find out courses later this evening with start times.
