Another warm day in the Caribbean and very light winds for the regatta. 1st race started in 6-7 knots of wind and never got better. We had a good start and good beat until we caught up with a catamaran in the start before us and unable to tack to the Island. Boats around us who managed it got a little
extra breeze and a lift. The race was just 10 miles and took over 2 hours to get around the course. We came 4th on corrected time just 13 seconds behind 3rd. 2nd race no more wind and we did well around the course with others in the fleet. Wind often below 5 knots. After 90 minutes 2nd race was abandoned. Get to do it all again tomorrow and wind is forecast to be no better. |
