I told a fib in last update, the spinnaker stayed up
well into the night and came down after just one broach. Just as well, the wind
built quickly and moved forward so a comfortable sail at 8 knots and no worry
about sleeping. The spinnaker came down at 0100 in the pitch black and to my
surprise no problems with all the bits of string. After tidying up got 5 hours
sleep in 60 & 90 bursts. At day light the wind dropped so spinnaker back up
for the push to the end.
Passed just south of the Scillies but north of the TSS
on the south side. It was the first time I have seen Bishop Rock. Lucky for me
no shipping caused any anxiety in the area.
Presently just 9 miles from the Lizard and expect to do
my final gybe of the race there to go north to Falmouth. May get update having
passed Lizard as do not have 5G signal yet.
The tablet that I believed had as cracked screen has
not, having cleaned it with a lens cloth the line across it came off. Not sure
what was on it to make my nail think it was cracked having just stepped on it on
the floor.
Passed Lizard, unable to get the gybe in so running at
170 TWA. Wind keeps dropping down to 4.8 knots for a while.
Will put update of finish tomorrow.
