Day 2 - St Barts - Gustavia

Last night took the dinghy into Gustavia and realised the this is a really up market island with all the Gucci and other high end brand shops, no run down supermarkets or bars. The cheapest place we found to eat was equivalent to most expensive
we went to in Sint Maarten. Expensive week coming up. Lazy day, no racing today. Tomorrow at least 3 of us racing maybe 4 on the Blue course, approx. 14nm. Wind is forecast to be down to around 10 -12 knots and hardly any rain unlike today. It will be a pursuit race and we get to start 1st
as the slowest boat in the fleet. The bolt that has broken from the rear pulpit was still in the deck. On inspection one can see it has been cracking for quite some time as the is corrosion on the surface on over half the surface. This anchorage is very rolly and at times most uncomfortable. The upside of less wind will be flatter anchorage. |
