Becalmed! We have been sat in a hole now since yesterday evening. We did have a few hours of puff today from the south and made around 10nm south west. Give me a force 8 any day! It’s tempting to motor but we’re not in a desperate hurry and what with the price of diesel and the horrid noise, think we’ll just sit this one out. Between reading and eating we’ve enjoyed swimming off the boat, the water is 25.9degrees and crystal clear! It’s pretty hot without the breeze so we’ve deployed the boom tent and made a proper little floating camp.
A large cruise ship passed us this morning doing 15kts, how small we must have looked bobbing around in the vast ocean.
Even though we’re not even half way, Matt’s cooking us a Caribbean curry tonight to get us in the mood. Hopefully the wind will fill tomorrow evening and we’ll be in the trade winds proper all the way to the end.
