Levitha

Position 37:00.14N 026:28.17E After sitting out more strong winds in Amorgos for a few
nights we left for a short hop of 30 miles to the small When we left the harbour there was a nice, gentle breeze BUT
big, rolly seas ! A very lumpy and uncomfortable trip and so by 4pm we were
glad to enter the very protected anchorage at Levitha and also glad to see that
one of the ten mooring buoys vacant. Levitha is very barren with just a couple of families who
run a Taverna from their farm for boat visitors. It is a bit of a trek to get there, you need a torch for the
return trip and don’t wear your heels ! There was a bit of a commotion whilst we were in the Taverna
with the family asking for a doctor because their little boy had fallen and hit
his head. No one responded so I put into practise my ships doctor and
first responder training and went to help ! Luckily it was not serious, no stitches needed and no sign
of concussion, it is amazing how far a bit of reassurance goes ! A Lovely home cooked meal at the Taverna and a very peaceful
night, a nice change from hearing usual music and bustle from shore. Yachts on the mooring buoys and the view out of the
anchorage – protected all round by land.
