Shopping

This is how our day went … 8.00am the bus to the supermarket is already full so we ask
the marina office to arrange a taxi for us, Derry, Joe, Sheila and I plus four
children. We wait outside and the taxi eventually arrives just after
midday and we all set off to do our shopping – with four large trolley
loads we return with bags on our laps, seats, floor and jammed in every
available space. The food shopping was the usual scenario, half of my list
was not available so the menus are quickly adapted whilst shopping to use whatever
is available. The next couple of hours are then spent transporting bags along
the numerous scaffold planks that lead down to our pontoon and then packing it
all away. I try my best to avoid the marina staff and pretend not to
hear their shouts and knocking at the boat as they want our boat moved yet
again and I am not happy to do this on my own. Mark and John & Sue arrive back around 6pm and we move
the boat together. The poor crew have not had much sleep, they are very hot and
smelly and are in desperate need of a shower ! After supper together we all collapse into bed at 9.00am and
don’t even wake before 8.30am this morning ! We are transiting the canal at 1715 tonight, which is 2215 If we can’t see the web cams in the dark we may catch
you all the next day at the next set of locks which are called Miraflores. We are looking forward to getting through the canal and also
to getting through all the red tape ready to continue our adventure. |
