Position 21:31.086N 36:40.619W Monday 23rd November 2009 Fishy tales….. Last night a large flying fish flew straight through the
side window in the aft cabin whilst we were sleeping. It woke us up with a thud and lots of commotion began as it
thrashed around the floor with Mark chasing it with a tea towel to pick it up
and take it outside. First thing this morning we had more excitement as the line
went and Malc reeled in a huge Dorado. It was beautiful, glistening yellow and
blue and green and leaping out of the water. Just as we pulled it out and got ready to gaff it, the hook
came out and the fish got away, what a shame ! It was our turn as net controller for today so I have just
spent 40 mins on the SSB radio relaying positions of the fleet and e-mailing
them to Rally control. We are running the generator now as the SSB runs down our
batteries, which means the immersion is also on and so we are all having hot
showers too. |
