Well, we set off at 9.30am with a nice sailing breeze and no swell, lovely.

The wind was Southerly so we had to motor into it for a couple of hours while coming around Finistere, however this then gave us a better angle to the wind so that we could continue sailing during the afternoon.

The trip was not without surprises !

Around midday we noticed that the water pump was pumping continuously and we heard the automatic bilge pump start up too - not good !

After a quick inspection we found that the cupboard door in the aft heads had swung open onto the basin tap and the pressure had lifted the tap to turn it on.

The shower, heads and aft cabin were awash with over six inches of water and the sailing movement was sloshing the water about so that it looked like we had our own wave machine inside the boat.

Lots of bailing out helped by the shower pump and electric toilet and we were soon dry again without any damage, thank goodness!

I am getting my sea legs now and so the roast chicken dinner was ready by the time we arrived into the marina at 7.30pm.

After tying up in a convenient mooring and then having to move and tie up again in a much more difficult spot, we settled down for dinner.

We seem to be following a Dutch yacht along the coast and we have met them here again tonight, they kindly gave us a map and the bus times to Noia, the old town in the Ria. We are planning to go there tomorrow.
