I have just received an e-mail from my Dad, who is rather concerned about Ashley getting up at 7.00am as this would be more than a little unusual.

So, I should clarify that it was only Mark & I who went to the early morning market and bread shop, Ashley continued to slumber peacefully for a few more hours !

However, Ashley certainly redeemed himself this morning (his last day) by setting his alarm and being on deck at 6.30am to help us clean the decks.

There was a shaky moment before breakfast when we realised exactly how much cooking Ashley has done -- I asked him to light the oven for the bread and he needed detailed instructions, after several moments he reappeared to ask how you open the oven door !

We get up early to complete our ‘jobs’ before it is too hot and then the idea is to have an afternoon kip – but so far it has been too hot for that too !
