Ahoy Shipmates,

Our first blog posting to mark the start of our big adventure !

It is 10.30am on Monday morning 6^th April 2009 and we are just leaving the needles behind us on route to Aldernay, we are both feeling sad and excited.

The sun is shining and we are looking forward to arriving at our first Island, one of many we plan to visit on route around the globe !

Thank you to everyone for our wonderful send off, especially Katie and Adam & Kirsty who managed to keep Saturday’s farewell party a complete surprise to us !

We were quite overwhelmed, it was simply ‘magic’ to have all our wonderful friends and family there to support us and say goodbye.

The cabin is full of all your cards strung up on various bits of spare rope, but the fridge is empty after you drank every drop of our crate of champagne before we cast off yesterday !
