Ensenada de Mazarron

Position 37:33.30N 01:10.38W We stayed in Almerimar for two nights and motored out of the
marina at 6.00am on Monday morning and saw the sun rise out at sea.
It was a long trip and we amused ourselves by playing ‘
doctors and nurses’ with our newly aquired training and kit. Wow ! Mark’s blood pressure and pulse is remarkably
lower now he has retired, so not only does he look younger but he is healthier
too, a honed athelete, as he keeps telling me. Early evening we arrived at Mazarron only to be turned away
from both marinas – the pilot book is obviously out of date. We weren’t keen to continue another couple of hours
and enter Cartegena in the dark so we set off to explore several nearby
anchorages and found a beautiful quiet spot, tucked behind a rocky headland protecting
us from wind and swell. By 9pm the anchor was dug in and we were swimming in
velvety, warm, deep blue water whilst the sun set highlighting the sky with a
pretty pink hue. Dinner outside by candlelight completed the day –
perfect. |
