The wind has abandoned us !

The twistle rig is up but the sails and poles are clattering annoyingly because they keep collapsing from lack of wind.

We had to take down one of the poles this morning and turn around the pole rope as it was badly chaffed.

This is very cruel – so near but so far from landfall !

We are still optimistically hoping to arrive on Sunday but at this rate it may well be late into the night.

I have requested fresh bread and croissants for Monday morning from the bakery in Nuka Hiva so the gauntlet has been laid down !
