After sailing overnight with good following winds we arrived at Morris Island at 10am. On the approach, whilst taking in the sails, we managed to break the forward furling drum and the genoa furled itself out and flapped around wildly. We had to take down the sail and strap it to the deck.

We were not able to repair the drum, so we have ordered a new part for Richard from Blue Water Rallies to carry out for us to Darwin.

Luckily we have two genoa headsails so not too much of a problem – but no twistling !

At Morris Island we were anchored in front of a beautiful sandy beach with a lone palm tree and a big fat 12 foot long crocodile sat at one end !

Some of the other yachts had taken their dinghies ashore for a walk and didn’t believe us when we told them about the crocodile who had by then slipped into the water.

We had a luxurious 8 hrs sleep last night and departed at 7.00am for another overnight sail around Cape York which is the most Northerly tip of Australia.

The anchorage is just around the corner and we hope to arrive tomorrow early afternoon.
