Dear Family and Friends,

Continuing my visit to Papeete market…

The market is full of stalls selling the famous Tahitian black pearls and jewellery of all shapes and sizes made with shells.

This lady is grading some black pearls using a tool with depressions of a specific size, a little like an egg tray.

And who could resist the height of tahitian fashion?

Or perhaps these take your fancy, bold colours and floral patterns are everywhere. Red and white are particularly traditional Tahitian colours.

Just outside the marina there was a publicity photo shoot with this band. The usual instruments are ukuleles and drums, sometimes a guitar too.

These bar, restaurants and bathing platforms go to the reef surrounding the island, from here you can canoe, snorkel or swim.

Approaching Papeete on our way back from Moorea.

Next up, our Puddle Jump Rally.

All our best,
